C.I.T.E.S EXPORT PERMIT
Hoodia Gordonii is classified as a protected plant in South Africa, due to its
limited supply and high demand. For this reason, to legally export Hoodia
Gordonii you need ot have an export permit from CITES – Convention on the
International Trade in Endangered Species of WIld Fauna and Flora.
The document, here left, shows that the supplier of the Hoodia has a legal
permit from CITES to export Hoodia Gordonii. Please note, very few Hoodia
manufacturers can produce this document.

CAPE NATURE SELLER’S LICENSE
The above is another permit that is necessary to export Hoodia Gordonii
from South Africa. This Cape Nature Permit shows that it is the
Hoodia Gordonii species that is being exported.
Only the Hoodia Gordonii species has been shown to have an appetite

CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN
Issued by Cape Chambers to verify that the product is from Origin
South Africa. Notice the source is listed as “South Africa” – this is very
important, as Hoodia that is NOT from South Africa is much cheaper
(and of course does not work for appetite suppression).
